Guide: Backup and Sync Zoho Docs: Tips and Tutorial

When it comes to choosing between Google Docs, Zoho Docs (Writer), or MS Word Online, the main concern that comes to mind is cross-platform availability. All you need is a decent internet connection, and you can continue your work from just about anywhere. The collaboration feature is the icing on the cake.

A backup plan is a good way to feel confident that you will be able to access your files if something goes wrong with the primary ones.

Nowadays, most people consider having a cloud backup of their files to be almost a norm. And of course, the other side is also true- after all, you don’t want to miss out on your precious data. ..

Zoho Docs allows you to sync your files with services like Dropbox or Google Drive. You can also save your Writer file to these accounts.

How to get started? ..

Sync with Dropbox

Zoho Docs allows you to configure your Dropbox account. The only downside is that it is a two-way sync which means all your files on your Dropbox account will be synced with Zoho and vice versa.

  1. Log in to your Dropbox account.
  2. Click on the “Accounts” tab.
  3. Click on the “Create a new account” button.
  4. Enter your name and email address into the fields below.
  5. Click on the “Create account” button and confirm your information by clicking on the “Confirm” button.
  6. You will now be able to access your Dropbox account from your computer or device!

Step 2: In the Configure your Dropbox account dialog, enter your Dropbox username and password. Step 3: Click the OK button to finish configuring your Dropbox account.

If you have not already created a Dropbox account, please do so now.

Once the account is verified, you will see your Dropbox username. Click on it and you will be redirected to the sync configuration page.

Dropbox and Zoho Docs offer different folder structures for users to organize their files. When you are finished working on a document, you can click on the Sync Folders button to have the document synchronized with the correct folder. This process will start immediately. ..

You can choose between Continuous and Sync mode. In Continuous mode, the app will keep track of your current location and will send you notifications when there is a change in your location. If you want to sync your location with another device, you need to select Sync mode. This will only keep track of your current location and won’t send you notifications.

Dropbox Paper has a plethora of keyboard shortcuts for formatting text, including the ability to create tables, lists, and grids. Here are some of the most common ones: -Ctrl+F to open a file in a new tab -Ctrl+G to group files together -Ctrl+J to join files by their name

Things to keep in mind

Dropbox is not syncing with Zoho Docs at the moment. I’m keeping my Dropbox folder empty because I don’t want these files in Zoho. Additionally, Zoho does not allow syncing of subfolders and files in those folders.

If you delete a file in one of the services, you must also manually delete the files in the other two. That’s because Zoho Docs doesn’t have file deletion sync like at the time of writing. ..

Sync with Google Drive

Google Drive doesn’t allow you to sync folders or documents with Zoho Docs. Instead, you can save a file directly to Google Drive. You can also use this process to save files to your Dropbox folder.

Once you’ve finished your work on the document, click File> Save to Other Drives and select Google Drive from the list.

Google Drive is a great way to keep all of your important files organized and easily accessible. You can see all of your Google Drive folders neatly in the small window, and you can access them any time you want.

You can now select a new folder or create a new folder to save your file. Just click on the ‘Add to this folder’ button, and your document will be uploaded immediately.

The great thing about this process is that you can select the format of your file. From PDF to DOCX or ODT, you have a lot of options to choose from. You can also add more than one Google Drive account. If you’re someone who is paranoid about privacy and security issues, you can even delete the account when you’re done with your work. ..

For both, click the Delete button in the Save to other drives window.

The feature that is not enabled on either of the two applications is to create a presentation or spreadsheet.

How about offline backupup

Zoho Docs does not include a native way to backup files on your computer, but there is a workaround. This allows you to achieve nearly similar results. I said the same and not exactly. ..

If you’re a regular user of Zoho Docs, you should be aware that it allows you to download files to your PC. The good thing is that Zoho Docs offers many options for you to choose from. So whether you want to save the file as a PDF or as plain text, the choice is yours.

To download files, open File, click Download as and choose one of the options. You can also choose to protect your files with a password in case you use a shared computer.

If you’re looking to write more efficiently, Zoho Writer offers a distraction-free writing mode called Focus Typing. To access it, click Tools> Layout Options and toggle the switch for Focus Typing.

Welcome peace!

With Zoho Docs, you can easily create and manage your word processing and spreadsheet needs. The collaboration features are great, and the backup feature is very helpful. Overall, I would say that Zoho Docs is a great tool for all your document needs.

Locking your documents while collaborating can help keep your work organized and prevent others from editing or deleting your work without your consent. To learn more about this feature, read the following post. ..
