Guide: Fix ‘Chrome Incognito Mode Missing’ Issue

Chrome’s incognito mode is one of the most popular features on the web. It keeps your privacy and browsing experience distraction-free, and it has a great interface.

Chrome is missing its incognito mode. Even the Ctrl-Shift-N hotkey doesn’t seem to work. It’s not cool to happen, especially staying anonymous – at times – is vital in this day and age.

Google has not removed Incognito Mode from their updates, and there are several other reasons you might need it. However, don’t worry - there are a few easy fixes that can help you get back to your normal life.

Sounds good, right? So let’s get started.

Use Chrome Cleanup Tool

Have you recently installed an extension? If so, the chances of a hijacked web browser are quite high. Certain malicious extensions can abuse administrative rights, change Chrome policies and disable certain browser functions. And to make matters worse, you may also find it nearly impossible to remove such extensions.

Chrome’s built-in malware removal tool is now available to help you clean up your computer after any malicious add-ons have been installed. By using this tool, you can remove any threats from your computer quickly and easily.

Step 2: Open chrome://settings and paste the following into the URL bar: chrome://flags/enable-gpu-benchmarking Step 3: Press Enter to save the changes.

Step 2: Type “Chrome Cleanup Tool” in the search bar and click the first result. Step 2: Click on the Chrome Cleanup Tool icon. Step 3: On the Chrome Cleanup Tool screen, click on the Tools tab. Step 3: On the Tools tab, click on the Extensions button. Step 4: On the Extensions tab, find and remove any malicious or unwanted extensions. ..

Chrome now warns you about extensions or programs that can interfere with your computer’s functionality.

If Chrome finds malicious items or extensions, it will ask you to remove them. Click on Delete to complete the removal process. ..

Chrome should now remove the malicious software or extension and return all changed settings to their defaults. If this whole debacle was caused by a malicious extension running rampant, you should be able to access Incognito mode the next time you restart Chrome.

Chrome is removing all your extensions. To manage and enable your extensions, point to More tools in the Chrome menu, then click Extensions.

Chrome Web Store extensions should only be installed from the Chrome Web Store in the future. And even then, make sure to check a few user reviews to make sure there aren’t any unwanted surprises waiting to screw things up.

As an adult

If you are an adult in your Microsoft family and want to help a member access Incognito Mode, the steps taken to remove them as a child are more complicated than if you were an adult in a other family.
