Houseparty, a popular video calling app, has recently been bought by Fortnite maker Epic Games. However, some users are reporting problems with the app, including not being able to sync or connect to contacts. That’s why I tweaked Houseparty on my system and came up with a few working solutions that will get you back to playing games with your friends in no time.
1. Restart the app
It could be a bug specific to certain systems or setups. So you have to close the app and then restart it to check if you can view contacts afterwards. Create a new room and test if you can add the contacts to play games with your friends. If not, let’s move on to other solutions.
2. Check the connection
-Make sure your contacts are synced and working -Check your Wi-Fi connection -Video calls can use a lot of bandwidth, so I wouldn’t recommend them if you’re on mobile data -Check your mobile data status to see if you’re running out of data -Check Down Detector to make sure the site is down if it’s not ..
3. Permissions and Access
House party needs access to your contacts so that you can invite your friends to your party.
To assign permissions for the Houseparty app, open Settings on your device and go to Apps. Find the Houseparty app and tap on it. On the App permissions page, make sure Contacts are allowed and other options as desired. ..
If you’re not sure if your contacts are in your House Party, open Settings and tap Contacts. If you see the option to add contacts from your iCloud account, enable it.
Open the Houseparty app and tap the ‘+’ icon to select Connect Contacts. You can then tap Add new friends to add friends who are in your phone book. They should now sync. ..
4. Phonebook and Facebook for synchronizing contacts
Houseparty is a social network for connecting with friends. You can add friends from your Facebook account, or if you have created the Houseparty account with your Facebook account, you should already see your contacts. If not, try to sync your phonebook.
If you cannot sync or add contacts using your email ID, you can add your social media account (Facebook) to sync contacts. One of the two options should work, otherwise you will have to check the access rights.
5. Left out a friend
Six friends are invited to a party, but only four of them show up. One of the friends who did not show up can’t or won’t join the party, so the others have to play the game instead. This bug is going to be fixed in upcoming updates.
The only way to invite everyone is to create a new room and send everyone a new invitation.
If you have trouble syncing your contacts, try deleting your friend and then adding them back.
To unfriend someone at Houseparty, tap My Friends, then tap the three-dot menu next to the person’s name and select Remove from Friends. ..
