We wanted to show you how to create a new user profile in Firefox using the built-in profile manager. Profile management makes it really easy to create individual profiles, but it doesn’t make managing or switching between these profiles easy. You need to close Firefox, go back to the profile manager, select the other profile and then open it. Too many steps for someone who regularly uses different Firefox profiles for different tasks.
Switchy is a Firefox add-on that allows you to easily manage your various Firefox profiles right from your browser toolbar. You can think of Switchy as a decent Firefox Profile Manager front end to create and manage different profiles on Firefox.
Assuming you’re using Firefox, open the Switchy add-on page and add it to your browser. Once your browser has restarted, you will see the Switchy button in the top right corner of the screen. Let’s start creating some profiles.
The new Switchy tab will open showing you the full list of profiles you currently have (if any) and a profile you are creating button painted in red color. Click on it to call up the profile manager.
