How to Fix ‘Messages App Missing’ Issue on iPhone and iPad – Guide

Some people have reported that their message icon on their iPhone disappeared after upgrading to iOS 14. Since messaging is a must-have app, it’s almost impossible to accidentally delete the messaging icon. Therefore, many people are confused, why my message icon on my iPhone disappeared?

  1. Try resetting your iPhone to its factory settings. This will fix any issues that may have caused the message icon to disappear in the first place.
  2. Resetting your iPhone also removes any data that may have been stored on it related to the message icon, so it should be back to its original state.

Close and reopen the messaging application

If the iPhone Messages app is blank, it may be because of a software glitch. To fix the issue, open up the application switcher and on an iPhone 8 or earlier, double-click the Home button to activate it. On an iPhone X or later, drag a finger up from the bottom of the screen to the center of the screen and pause there until the app switcher opens.

Restart your iPhone

If closing the Messages app doesn’t resolve the issue, try restarting your iPhone. Another app or program may have crashed your iPhone software, leaving the Messages app blank. First, turn off your iPhone by holding down the power button until the power slider appears on the screen. Swipe the red power icon from left to right to turn off your iPhone. Wait about 15 seconds, then press and hold any button until the Apple logo appears in the center of the screen. ..

Turn iMessage off and on

An iPhone Messages app error may be causing the app to be blank. To fix the issue, open the Settings app and tap Messages. Tap the switch to the right of iMessage to turn it off. You’ll know iMessage is off when the button is white and positioned to the left. Tap the button again to turn iMessage back on.

Update your iPhone

The iPhone messaging app may be blank due to a software crash that has been fixed by upgrading to the latest iOS version. To fix the issue, open the Settings app and tap General -> Software Update. If an iOS update is available, tap Download and install. Once the new iOS update is downloaded, your iPhone will install it and restart.

Reset all settings

If you’re having trouble with your iPhone, resetting all of its settings can help you get back on track. This process removes any existing data and restores your iPhone to its factory settings. Make sure to write down any passwords you need before doing this, as you’ll have to enter them again later. To reset all settings, open the Settings app and tap General -> Transfer or Reset iPhone -> Reset -> Reset all settings. Then enter your password, the Restrictions password (if it is set up) and tap Reset all settings when the confirmation alert appears on the screen. ..
