Guide: How to Man­age Google Dri­ve Folders

I like to keep my data organized. I like to have a launcher with folders, or store files in folders on my PC. But what about cloud services like Google Drive? Does it support maps? And how to use and organize folders on Google Drive? Find out in this post.

Google Drive folders are easy to create and manage. You can create subfolders and also share the folders and subfolders with others. You can also sync your folders from Drive to your PC and vice versa.

  1. Open Google Drive on your mobile device.
  2. On the left, you will see a list of folders. This is your main storage area for Google Drive content.
  3. To add a folder to your mobile device, just tap on it and select “Add Folder.”
  4. To add a folder to your PC, open Google Drive and click on the “File” tab at the top of the screen. Then click on the “New” button and enter a name for your new folder (e.g., “My Documents”).

3. Create a subfolder in Google Drive

Organize folders by color

To organize your folders in a better way, you can color code them using the native option. When you do this, it becomes easy to distinguish different folders in Google Drive.

6. Search in folder

You can search for files in Google Drive by using the following steps:

  1. Right-click on a folder and select Look Within.

7. Add to Home Screen

To quickly access a Google Drive folder on your phone, you can create a shortcut for it. To do this, tap the three-dot icon in the folder and select Add to Home screen.

8. Copy and move folder

You can easily move a folder to another folder with the native Move option. Doing so will move all of the content in the folder as well.

To move a Google Drive folder on the web, right-click on the folder and select Move to. Then choose the destination folder.

On the mobile apps, tap the folder’s three-dot icon and select Move to another location.

Google Drive does not provide a direct way to copy a folder. However, you can do this by making a copy of the files in the folder. Then you need to add them to the new folder. Select the files to make a copy of your files. Right-click on it and select Make a copy. Then create a new folder and move these new files into it.

9. Synchronize folders from PC to disk
