How to restore Deleted Bookmarks in Google Chrome – Guide

Deletebing something can be difficult, especially if it’s something you’ve been using for a while. You may have bookmarks and favorite items in your Chrome browser, but if they’re all gone, you’ll never know for sure. You can also restore them by going to the Chrome web store and clicking on the “Restore Bookmarks and Favorites” link.

Restoring Deleted Bookmarks in Chrome

Google Chrome is in the state you are in now. Do not do anything.

The Google Chrome browser folder contains all of the information about your Google Chrome browser, including bookmarks and bookmarks. Scroll down to see two files: Bookmarks and Bookmarks.bak.

The first one without extension contains all your bookmarks and Favorites folders. The second one with .bak extension contains the backup of the Favorites folder. We’re going to take a copy of the .bak file.

Now that we’ve taken care of the backup, we need to make it the main active bookmark file. Therefore, you need to delete the other two files. Click on it and select the next one by holding the Ctrl key on your keyboard. ..

After deleting both files, you must rename the copied file. You can rename it to Bookmarks without any extension. But putting the extension back again will make it a backup file. So it would help if you didn’t.

The final step is to check the bookmarks. Make sure you follow all the steps provided above. After completing Step 7, you can proceed to opening the Chrome browser. Open it up and check the bookmarks bar. Don’t forget to open all folders there, if any.
