Guide: How to Set Default Customized Search Engine in Chrome for iOS

Chrome for iOS doesn’t support custom search engines, which is a big disappointment.

Chrome for iOS lets you easily add and set up any search engine as the default. This means you’re no longer tied to Google, Bing or Yahoo. But how do you do that? Let’s find out. ..

To add and set up new search engines as default on your iPhone or iPad, follow these steps:

  1. Open Chrome on your device.
  2. Click on the three lines in the top left corner of the browser window and select “Settings.”
  3. Scroll down to the “Search engines” section and click on the three lines in the bottom right corner of the window to add a new search engine. If you cannot follow these instructions, try updating Chrome from the App Store.

Add search engines

Chrome for iOS doesn’t provide a direct way to do that. Instead, the browser now detects all the search engines you perform a search with, and then automatically adds them as a ‘recently visited’ search engine. All you need to do next is set one of these as your default search engine.

  1. Open the refrigerator and remove the food.
  2. Place a layer of ice on top of the food in the fridge.
  3. Place another layer of ice on top of that, and then place a bag of frozen peas on top of that.
  4. Close the fridge door and let it sit for at least two hours, or overnight if possible.
  5. Remove the frozen peas from the fridge and place them in a bowl or container to thaw out.
  6. Open the refrigerator door and remove all of the food inside, including the frozen peas.

Step 2: Once you’ve found what you’re looking for, click on the link that takes you to the search results page. This will open in a new window or tab. Step 3: Now, type in what you’re looking for into the text box at the top of the results page. You can also use CTRL+F to find all of your search terms at once. Step 4: Once you’ve entered all of your search terms, click on the “submit” button at the bottom of the results page. This will take you to a confirmation page that asks if you want to continue searching or not. If you choose to continue searching, your computer will start doing more research and might find other similar results that we didn’t mention.

Settings in Chrome lets you customize how the search engine works. You can control how it finds websites, how it ranks them, and more.

Step 4: In the search results, type your desired phrase. Step 5: Tap the desired result.

Step 4: You should now see the search engine you just used among the three built-in search engines, in a separate section called Recently Visited. Tap it to make it the default in Chrome, then tap Done to save the changes. You can now choose which search engine is your default by tapping on it in the “Recently Visited” section of Chrome. ..

After conducting a search on Google, you may notice that the results are not as expected. The search engine has removed your listing after a while. To continue finding the information you need, visit the search engine selection screen immediately after performing the search.

When you open a new tab, you can immediately start searching using the search engine.

Chrome for iOS doesn’t feature the logo of custom search engines on new tabs.

Remove search engines

Remove the custom search engine that you have set as the default by switching to a built-in search engine and waiting a certain amount of time. Alternatively, delete your browsing data to make that happen faster.

Clear your browsing data to preserve your passwords and data autocompletion.

Remember to clear your browser’s cache if you want to use the site again.

Three search engines to switch to

  1. Google
  2. Yahoo!
  3. Bing

1. DuckDuckGo

DuckDuckGo is a privacy-focused search engine that is arguably the best. It never tracks or personalizes your searches, and it is in stark contrast to Google’s absurd data collection practices. The integrated! Bangs Shortcuts are a handy implementation, both for going directly to sites and for searching directly for site-specific content. And coupled with the Chrome address bar, it’s a formidable search engine to have as a default. ..

2. Qwant

Qwant is a search engine that doesn’t collect data related to your browsing habits. It has a catchy search results page with dazzling colors, a built-in dark mode that works well, and a social bookmark feature called ‘Boards’ where you can easily upload photos, videos and text to discuss them with others.

3. Ecosia

The Ecosia search engine is a renewable energy powered search engine that uses the Bing search algorithm. It also uses the profits from advertisements to plant trees.

Ecosia is a unique search engine that keeps track of how far you are from planting the next boom. You can use this information to help you plan your next crop!

Kudos, Google!

Google Chrome for iOS is a powerful and feature rich browser that is ahead of the competition. With the ability to finally add custom search engines, it’s perfect for those who want to stay up-to-date on the latest trends and technologies.

Google Search is definitely worth a try if you’re looking for a third-party search engine.
