How to switch and Add Messenger with two accounts – Guide

Facebook Messenger is finally getting multi-account support as of today. With this update, you can switch between accounts with a single device. There’s a new Accounts section in Settings to add Messenger to your account, and you don’t need to be on Facebook to sign in.

If you worry about your family and friends reading your messages, there’s some protection against that too. The first time you switch accounts, you will be asked for your password, and from there, you can choose whether you need it at all times. Messages sent to a different account will result in notification of a new message, but that message will remain private until the account is switched.

Here it is how to switch to another account on Messenger:

Type “messenger” into the app’s search bar and hit enter. You’ll see a list of your contacts, including your friends and family. To add someone, tap on their name and select “Add.” Your new contact will be added to your list of messages.
