Echo devices let you instantly connect with people you know and trust. When you sign in, the Echo device’s ring of light flashes green and the device beeps. You can hear everything within range of the device. If you and your contact use Echo devices with screens, you’ll both see everything within range of your devices. ..
Get the app
Second, open the Alexa app on your Android or iOS device. You will see a list of devices that are connected to your Echo account. To join an Echo device, click on the blue “+” next to the name of the device you want to connect to. If you have more than one Echo device, you will need to select which one you want to join by clicking on the blue “+” next to the name of each device. Third, type in your voice command for Drop In. For example, if you are a home owner and want to call my daughter in for dinner, I would say “Alexa, call my daughter for dinner.”
After downloading and launching the app, you should be asked to set up Alexa Calls and Messages. If not, tap the speech bubble at the bottom of the screen to sign up and fill in your contact information.
Enable Drop In on Devices
The entrance feature may be disabled in the app, so you may need to choose to use it. In the Echo Device Settings, look for the section that says Communications and select it. The communications section will have a receiving section. Make sure Drop In is enabled. You can select it and choose between On, Off and My family only. ..
Click on the Devices icon. You will now see a list of all the devices that are connected to your Echo Show.
From the device menu, choose the device on which you want to activate Drop In feature.
If you’re enabled on all your Echo devices, you can initiate home visits just by saying “Alexa, show up” and then saying the specific name of the Echo device. If that’s all you want to do, you’re good to go.
